By accessing or using Bastian Technologies' services, website, and API ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These terms govern the use of all tools and services provided through bastiantechnologies.com.

2. Description of Service

Bastian Technologies provides document processing tools and APIs, including but not limited to:

• PDF to Image conversion
• PDF Merge functionality
• PDF Split functionality
• Document Template creation with electronic signatures

2.1 Pricing Model

Free for Website Users: All tools are completely free when used through our website interface.

API Users: Programmatic access via API is billed on a pay-per-use basis:

• PDF to Image: $0.01 per page converted
• PDF Merge: $0.01 per merge operation
• PDF Split: $0.01 per split operation
• Document Template: $0.01 per document + $0.01 per signature field

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Ensuring your email address remains valid and accessible

4. API Keys and Security

Upon registration, you may generate API keys to access the Service programmatically. You agree to:

• Keep your API keys confidential and secure
• Not share API keys with unauthorized third parties
• Regenerate keys immediately if compromised
• Use API keys only for legitimate purposes

5. Pricing and Payment

5.1 Billing Cycle

API usage is billed monthly. Charges accumulate throughout the month and are processed at the beginning of the following month.

5.2 Minimum Charge Threshold

Monthly charges below $0.50 USD will be deferred to the following month. Charges accumulate until the minimum threshold is met.

5.3 Payment Methods

We accept major credit cards and debit cards through Stripe. All transactions are processed securely in compliance with PCI DSS standards.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Process illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the Service's underlying technology
• Overload or attempt to disrupt the Service infrastructure
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
• Process documents containing malware or malicious code
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Forge signatures or create fraudulent documents

7. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure fair access for all users, we implement rate limits on API requests:

• PDF tools: 60 requests per minute
• Status checks: 10-30 requests per minute
• Downloads: 30-60 requests per minute

Excessive usage may result in temporary throttling or account suspension.

8. Electronic Signatures

Our Document Template tool provides electronic signature functionality. By using this feature:

• You acknowledge that electronic signatures may have legal validity
• You are responsible for ensuring signers have authority to sign documents
• Audit certificates provide cryptographic proof of signing events
• We do not provide legal advice regarding e-signature compliance

9. Data Privacy and Security

Documents submitted to our tools are processed transiently and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing completes. For complete details, please review our Privacy Policy.

10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or events beyond our control.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bastian Technologies shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Errors in document processing
• Service interruptions or data transmission failures

12. Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through Account Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
